The 137th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly

The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) is the oldest international parliamentary organization. It was established in 1889 and currently unites national parliaments from 173 countries and 11 inter-parliamentary organizations. Over time, the IPU mission has evolved towards the development of parliamentarism, respect for human rights, establishing of inter-ethnic peace and maintaining of international security. The Inter-Parliamentary Union is one of the most respectful world organizations.
